Rennsport Gruppe / Ex Continental 2007 Cayman S Tiptronic
« Last post by Tony Rundle on May 08, 2018, 04:33:02 PM »
Hi everyone,
A friend of mine is looking to buy a Cayman S for Track Days. The ex Conti car is for sale here in Taupo. Just wondering if any of you know of it’s history, in particular, any mishaps or damage to body or mechanicals that might help us establish a value and fitness for purpose.
Cheers,
Tony Rundle

Rennsport Gruppe / Go Pro Vs. ActionCamera and mounting on a Cayman

Hi everyone,
Thinking of fitting one of the above to the Cayman.
Would like to know who has experience with either/both of these products and what mount type is suitable for a standard dash Cayman.
Your collective wisdom is needed. Thanks. :D

Rennsport Gruppe / RSG Tyre Channel
« Last post by Jake Wratt on October 13, 2016, 11:48:59 AM »
Early this year I reached out to Tyreline, the distributor for Michelin tyres in NZ, and tabled the idea of having a channel for RSG to purchase Michelin tyres, the intention being to give us easier access to Michelin products at appealing rates. After a bit of discussion RSG now have our own dedicated email address at Tyreline/Michelin NZ - rsgtyres@tyreline.co.nz

RSG members can make any type of enquiry with regards to Michelin product, such as availability, technical information, and pricing. Tyreline can leverage off their national network and facilitate sale and installation of tyres in most regions.

If you’re after a new set of tyres you can drop them an email with the sizes you’re after, along with your location/region and any specifics on the model of tyre you want, and they should respond with pricing and a local branch that can fit them for you.

Drop me a note if you have any questions, but this is available from today.

Available products:
•   Michelin (all tyres except agricultural and 100% dedicated racing tyres)
•   BF Goodrich (4x4, SUV and Passenger car)
•   Other brands listed at www.tyreline.co.nz

Porsche history: I bought a 997 C2S in 2005, kept it two years as I didn't get enough trackdays to warrant keeping it.  Did far more trackdays on the bike.  Been doing trackdays in the M5 recently and enjoying that - They gave me a Cayman GTS for a weekend - I'd be happy with this, but ordered the GT4 because.... It excites me :)
If/when I buy another Porsche I'd like a: GT4
Tracks driven: Pukekohe (old), Hampton Downs, Taupo, Manfeild, Teretonga, Highlands, Levels, Ruapuna, Phillip Island, Eastern Creek. Mt Cotton, Queensland International Raceway.

Greatest Porsche moment: During the time with my 911, I did the Porsche Driver Training at Mt Cotton Levels 1 and 2, then 2 and 3 on another occasion. During both events I managed to win the Top Gun Trophy and probably the best Porsche memory I have to date would be the nice things Tomas Mezera said about me at the Prizegiving. Also, there was a rather arrogant Lambo driving rich guy there who was also quite competitive. During the Prizegiving said that he'd never swear at Asian drivers again as I collected my trophy. Nice acknowledgement from one like him. The friend I went with recorded the whole thing on video, so that was pretty cool.

I'll put the SITT photos up next week or so (and put the high res versions of your car on Dropbox or something for you to download).  Intended to do it sooner, but had two HDs die and have been rebuilding my workstation.
